THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
I look forward to continuing to serve you throughout the next term...
It has been my honor to serve as your Clerk of Court for East Baton Rouge Parish and I would appreciate your consideration as our campaign for re-election continues in the upcoming weeks. Over these years, I have made every effort to provide our citizens with an office in which they can find the services they need conveniently and with all of the attention that they require. I have often said that just because our office might be the only place to receive one of our services, our customers deserve the highest level of courtesy and care as found in the competitive private sector.
You might know of many of our services and holdings, but I still encounter many people who do not realize everything our office does and all of the extensive history to be found in our Archives. I invite you to learn more about our office by contacting us or by visiting the office website for a larger overview. In the meantime, some of our highlights are listed below. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve you and I hope to have the honor of continuing to do so.
Sincerely,
Doug Welborn

When Old school service meets the Convenience of technology...
...you must be at the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court's Office. Doug Welborn has consistently kept up with the latest and best ways to keep the office's technology current, but he has always been of the belief that technology should supplement quality personal service but never replace it. That's why if you like to take advantage of their popular electronic filing or e-recording services or make use of their extensive online research capabilities, you're in the right place. But if you still enjoy the time-honored tradition of "Service with a Smile" in which Doug and the staff take pride, you're still in the right place!
history...
The holdings of the Clerk of Court's Office date back to the 1800s and many researchers and genealogists have been in awe of what they have been able to find about our area. Court records, land transactions, cash sales and much more are kept in countless matters up to the current day.
public Service...
Marriage license issuance, assistance in obtaining passports, while-you-wait certified copies of Birth and Death Certificates are just some of the most popular services to be found at the Clerk's Office. Research assistance is available in addition to the popular online and in-house data. The popular and long-running Kids ID Program is still going strong at many events and venues.
public engagement...
File or record official notarial documents or court proceedings, cancel a mortgage upon completion of payment, become an election commissioner to work at the voting precincts, respond to a notice for jury service, file a clergy membership, notary oath of office or military discharge...these are only a few of the ways that the public might interact with the Clerk of Court's Office.
